Raised in Cumberland, Pat graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. She then went on to UW - Eau Claire and graduated with a double major in Business Administration and Office Administration.
Elizabeth moved every three years of her life due to her father serving in the US Air Force. While she cannot say that she is from any one place, she has grown to think of Barron County as her home. She began working for Skinner Funeral Home through an internship in 2017 and became a licensed funeral director in the winter of 2020. Elizabeth feels both humbled and honored to serve families by guiding them through the difficult transition of losing a loved one. Skinner & Smith Funeral Home has been honored to serve the citizens of Dunn and the surrounding communities for over a century.
Pat has certainly put this education and experience to use by managing the business office of the funeral home for over 40 years. Bob and Pat have dedicated their entire careers to serving the families in the communities they live in and love. After over 50 years of service, they have retired so that they may continue serving as volunteers for many, many community organizations. As with many funeral home families, in his youth he earned his stripes washing cars and doing maintenance around the funeral home. A graduate of Cumberland High School and Marquette University, it was in college when he chose funeral service as his profession. While living in Milwaukee, he worked at one of the 8 locations for Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Homes. He attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, worked for the Eldon A. Good Funeral Home and graduated from mortuary school in 1996. He returned to Cumberland and began his career at Skinner Funeral Home. He purchased and began operating the Pockat Funeral Home in Shell Lake in 2004, the Jarocki Funeral Home in Rice Lake in January of 2007 and the Cumberland and Turtle Lake homes in 2008.

She gained four years of experience at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapels during her time in the cities, both as a student/intern and eventually, a licensed director. Although she loves most aspects of the job, her favorite part is meeting with families. His parents, Bob and Pat Skinner, owned and operated the Skinner Funeral Homes in Cumberland before he was born.
